'Go shine in the world and live as Jesus did with compassion, honesty and integrity.'

Charitable giving

At St Mary's, children show our Christian values of compassion and community through charitable giving.

The school council, made up of pupils, is involved in promoting and organising donations for a range of causes.

Pupils are invited to donate to those in our local community who are most in need through the foodbank. We have a basket in our school lobby where donations of foods and toiletries can be given at any time. Just pop in to the school office to donate. The foodbank are always grateful for the number of donations that St Mary's offer.

We hold monthly non-uniform days where pupils can choose to wear their own clothes by donating to PLAN International. PLAN International UK is a global children’s charity who work with girls and boys growing up in some of the world’s poorest communities, making sure they have access to the education, health care, clean water and future opportunities they need to thrive. St Mary's is pleased to sponsor children directly through our regular donations. Visit the website to find out more: Plan-uk.org

Pupils at St Mary's have chosen Water Aid as a charity to donate proceeds from our annual Movie Afternoon. Water Aid work with the communities left furthest behind to build clean water supplies that keep pumping, come rain or shine. Visit the website to find out more: wateraid.org/uk

We attend the Christingle Service at Westminster Abbey during Advent. During this service St Mary's pupils offer a donation to The Children's Society who support vulnerable children in the UK. Visit the website to find out more: childrenssociety.org.uk
