School Climate Charter

Our school has signed up to the School Climate Charter. The ultimate aim of the School Climate Charter is to create meaningful and sustainable climate action in school and therefore, the ultimate aim of signing the charter is for schools to take action to tackle the ecological and climate crisis.

Research increasingly shows that schools using sustainability principles help their pupils to develop positive attitudes to their futures as well as their own learning. This means they are more likely to be better behaved, are more engaged in class and attain better results. Practising sustainability empowers children to construct knowledge, explore values and develop an appreciation of the environment and its relationship to their worlds. This lays the foundations for environmentally responsible adulthood.

By signing the charter we become members of the Camden Climate Alliance which will provide the school with advice and resources to enable us to meet targets which the charter has set for its signatories. We believe strongly in this initiative and will report on our progress through the targets via this website page.
